What is CIRCLE DANCE?
Circle Dancing encompasses a wide range of dances, traditional and modern, drawn from many cultures,
and in many styles. Most of the dances are done in a circle, holding hands, though some (like many Greek dances) are done in a line. The countries represented by the dances include Greece, Israel, France, Russia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania the countries of Yugoslavia, and the UK.

How is it TAUGHT?
Each dance will normally be taught immediately before it is danced, the teaching is clear, patient, and geared to the needs of the participants. Most people find they can enjoy the dancing straight away - even if they sometimes feel they have two left feet.

Who can DO IT?
Virtually anyone can enjoy circle dancing. You do not need any previous experience of dance in any form. You do not need a partner. Men & women, young & old, the fit and
the not so fit each can enjoy the benefit from it.

What can it OFFER?
Circle Dancing offers many things to different people. The important thing about circle dancing is the participation, rather than the standard of performance. It doesn’t matter too much if people are not dancing exactly the right steps. People find the experience non-threatening and the atmosphere non-judgmental.

People often experience emotional healing through circle dancing. The worries and tensions of the day or the week tend to disappear after an evening of dancing.

It is usually found that circle dance groups are friendly places where newcomers feel at home very quickly
